Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 1 Day 3 - Splitting up

So they are already stepping on each other's feet... who would've expected that? Gabriel actually enjoys running off to find seeds, this way he gets a break from the others. Early this morning he found there is another beach, a bit further north. It looked cold and unfertile, not a good place for a farm anyway.
A little later, many of them were exhausted. What was exciting for a day, is now turning into something rather difficult to handle.
Roger Redward had collected a few more items on the beach this morning. He feels like a salesman, but admits everything to be free for a little longer. Sharing equally, but some items are harder to value.

Then Roger came up with the idea of having daily briefings. At least for as long as they fight over limited resources.
Hm, why did they automatically think splitting up, rather than all 8 moving away from the beach - together?

Bianca is a little slow again, bless her...

Then they all stood up, and all the belongings, except some personal items like the framed photos and Bianca's camera, were shared.

Redwards: lounge chair, 2 x deck chair with rails, deck table, carpet runner, decor bottle, elephant, ball.
Greenches: 2 x deck chair, 1 deck table, fiery glow light, watering can, 2 x set of clay pots, crate,  small table, shovel.
Yea-Lows: bed, 2 x deck chair, oil lamp, decor bottle, small tray table, music box, black small box.
Blumingtons: bed, 2 x deck chair, 1 deck table, wooden toy blocks, blue statue, blow dryer, water paint.

To be left at Arrival Beach: fire pit, mirror, crate, guitar, trunks, beach umbrella.

They made a deal that Greta and Gabriel will fill up one crate with food on the beach just before the daily breefing at noon. Then Greta and Gabriel left east, and the others helped building a small shelter. It got a roof, but only 2 walls. It was all they could arrange at the moment. Greta loved it, and Gabriel couldn't wait to get the garden going.

Hm, honeymoon and certain obligations that includes some flirting. But Gabriel just urged to plant a few seeds first.
Then Yvonne Yea-Low surprised them by stopping by.

Finally... let there be many small farm assistants :-)
Back on Arrival Beach, Yvonne and Roger noticed there was food waiting to be harvested.
And Rita had a talk about babies with Yespar. Well, it's always good to know what the orthers plan...

In a couple days there will be another chapter. Not quite sure who will move out next. Check back to find out!

Week 1 Day 2 - Lost and found

They woke up to a rather chaotic morning. Half of them were very tired, half of them had to pee themselves. It was a good reminder that today they need to build a shower, and eventually a toilet, too. But how do you build those things from nothing?

To their surprise Roger had set on display a variety of items that he found on the beach this morning. His business idea keeps spinning, but this far he tries to keep it to himself.

Stupid Greta... If you didn't bring that photo, who else than your hubby would have?

Back home Rita would not even have noticed such an old fashioned and primitive lamp. But when there's a question of survival, desires seem to change...
Like I said, not all of them were rested. Yvonne and Yespar had not be given access to the beds all night, no wonder Yvonne passed out for real.

Bianca is a bit naive in an artistic way, and she doesn't understand everything. But why not keeping that to yourself, girl!
Hooray, another delicious dinner coming up :-)
No idea why Bianca reads Totally Preggers: An Expecting Mother's Tale, but it must have been in her inventory. Is she pregnant already? I don't think so. And sorry for the typos, Rita definately didn't intend to start with a friendly HI, rather I. By the way, she keeps rolling the wish to visit France, but sorry, I don' t think that would be possible right now...
Finally, Gabriel finds some seeds. Unfortunately 2 out of 3 were special stuff that he isn't able to plant yet.

Nice pile of junk. What a lovely beach! I should add that they built a small shower and toilet on the back wall of the shelter. They discovered a smal but steady water source from a crack in the huge rock.
Hm, I think Yvonne meant to make a request for dinner, but looking at the picture, it might seem like she is coming straight from bed, trying to sniff the lettuce. If you think that is a salmon, you are far off, woman!

Charming, isn't she? Hm, she better wash her face tomorrow. They now got a primitive toilet, as well as a simple shower. But they still need more beds.
In order to reproduce, it's not enough to move some of them to separate lots. They need double beds, too. I think it's time to start looking on their economical system... Even if they can't spend money in this situation, each couple will need to have a certain amount money for adding a realistic limit to how much they can build and improve. §1000 per couple? §5000?

Will be continued in 2 days :-)

Week 1 Day 1 - Stranded!

The 4 newly wed couples were all out of luck when the boat sank, and their lifeboat tipped just when no land was to be seen anywhere. But miracles happen. The morning after, in the warm sand and by the sounds of a couple seagulls blending in with the still rough sea (or is that some snoring?), our main story begins...

It's not everyday you wake up on a foreign beach just like that. Already dry and clean, and the hairspray certainly did what it promised.
You would have been a bit dizzy, too!

Smart thinking by Rita. And this is where I repeat that cell phones will work within a small radius on certain days with calm weather... and this does not include any day following a storm...

Some are slow, that's how life is... normally you will be pretty much aware of your wife on your honeymoon, but well, it's been a tough night.
I told you he's a bit bossy. But I think they need someone to be.

Greta and Gabriel Greench walked into the forest East of the beach.

Some obviously prefer thorough planning. While others are just - grumpy...

Closer to the beach, Bolan is still looking for his wife...

And then they all gathered back on the beach. The two builders did a good job with some wrecked stuff on the beach, right? They named this Arrival Beach, they don't know it yet, but I mention it now because it might be good to know.

Then they sat down. They don't look very worried at all, do they?

Yay, a jellyfish! Dinner is secured! Hooray!
They got 8 fish and 3 jellyfish - not bad on first try. Well, Bolan caught 10 of those and Bianca just 1...

Hm, Greta Greench isn't the most humorous person on this beach - bad choice, Bolan!
Of course they have no bathroom on this camp feast of honeymooners. It's too early, I mean, how big is the chances that the toilet from the sinking boat will appear on the beach next to you? So, they will need to build it themselves, maybe tomorrow already.

So, I forgot to tell you they don't have a shower either. Should be possible to jump into the sea, after all they are on a beach. That's what beaches are for. But well, if they all do it the Yvonne-way, it will be equal to all and nothing to be ashamed of.

To be continued in 2 days!

Intro story 3/3: The storm

Right after sunset the storm surprised them all, even the crew of the boat. The captain ordered them to enter the two lifeboats. The 4 married couples in one boat, and the crew of the boat and the TV show staff in the other boat. Few minutes later the main boat took in water, fell over to the side and sank. The group had brought only a very few belongings, it was getting real dark, and the wind increased. The promising honeymoon TV-show participation was suddenly replaced with the scene from a nightmare...

And so it did! The lifeboat tipped, all 8 fell into rough water. Some grabbed the life preservers, som grabbed each other. They all were in a hopeless situation.

And this is where the intro story ends, and the main project is about to start! You probably already guessed that at least some of them will survive the storm, so check back when the main story starts in two days!

---

I really enjoyed seeing them onboard, even if it was just for the pictures :-)   Post a comment if you want to download the boat lot to explore it further, and I'll try to upload it somehow. It's created in a world as the only lot, and no more lots can be added because there is no land. So, not a world for playing long term. A bit limited, yes. But still fun, double yes!
