SimBasic: Week 12 Day 5: Released?

On Maccaroni Island there is a slow progress in many ways. Taxes are about to be introduced, stiring up major protests. Old constructions like the old lighthouse have been upgraded. The lighthouse is still called Roger's Light, but especially residents of the northern and southern regions tend to call it Roger Sleight.

LaShawn Greench has taken the surname Gladiston, from some ancestor. He doesn't often come to this place, in the western region, but this morning he was out collecting seeds and other finds. Once again he lives alone, as both his old parents, Greta and Gabriel, died almost overnight.

LaShawn brings on a few of Greta's dreams. Greta always wanted to go on vacation to Champs les Sims, and LaShawn keeps dreaming a similar dream although he was born after the couples stranded on the small island, and doesn't realy have a clue about distant destinations.

Greta also wanted to build a nectar cellar, and she inspired her son LaShawn to start learning the art of nectar making. LaShawn really needs to raise money to pay his debts, but he think it's wise to produce a little nectar every now and then. Today his dog Dusty followed.

At the House of Law, Christopher R. Black was preparing a special event. The island's very first prisoner, Joe Hawk, was about to get released today! He refused to pay when he was found guilty, so he was locked up in an underground cell for 5 days.

Christopher just turned elderly. His wife Bella is a few years older. He never liked putting poor old Joe Hawk to jail, but the island has got a court system, and working for the House of Law, Christopger wasn't entitled to protest. The whole thing against Joe was initiated by Christopher's older brother, Randal Redward, and Christopher knew Joe was probably not even guilty of all those charges.

Joe walked outside, and to his surprise he did not find Emmy there, but...

House of Law is located next to the school, and most of the pupils had rushed over to witness a criminal old man being released.

Corinne Y. Redward had plans for today's lessons. She wanted to teach them what she knew about the other world, the world where the 4 original couples lived before coming to this island. She knew it would be quite a shock to some of the kids, if they didn't already know about the other world, so she wanted to proceed slowly, starting with a few songs from the other world. She had brought her guitar, too!

But then appeared Dorothy R. Yea-Low, Corinne's sister-in-law. Dorothy is the local health advisor, some even refer to her as a doctor.

Then Dorothy finally walked on, and Corinne could start the other world song performance.

Up north, at 3 Blumington Road, Graica was inspecting the mysterious plant once again. She planted a weird seed some days ago, but still there was no sign of fruits that could hint about the plant's qualities.

Graica grew up at Greench Farm, but moved in here to help her unmarried uncle Alfonso with the house. Old granny Bianca is still around, but no longer able to do much around their humble house.

Graica's cousin Rebecka Black resides near by, and she often come over as they are close friends.

Both households are poor, and there is no way they can afford buying a horse from Randal Redward. Who can raise §1500 just like that?

They walked inside to chit-chat. Neither of them has a boyfriend - yet.

Rebecka might be onto something with her older friend, but Graica, who could she mate up with?

At the local café, Beatrice G. Hedgewall had stopped by to talk with her twin sister, Carie G. Peel, who works there as a cook and a waitress.

Beatrice resides in Sunrise Valley, and she really missed her relatives on Greench Farm. It's just a short walk, really, but she still felt like being cut off.

Some of the guests had mentioned the Hawk case earlier.

Yamir Redward was in the café, he is Corinne's only son. And his sister, Rosanne, was there too!

Suddenly Carie felt sorry for bringing it up. The crazy Agnes Hawk did have many relatives, 3 siblings, and Corinne Y. Redward was just one of them. Another one was Beatrice' husband, Yoseph Y. Hedgewall.

Carie had a few drinks with Yamir the other day. The next day she had turned him down, and he seemed to be rather angry with her about it. Carie thought that it sounded like a threat, like if he planned to blackmail her. But if someone could gain from blackmailing, it would certainly be her blackmailing him.

Over at 3 Greench Farm, the main property, Archie and Bridgette were checking out the new green chest. When many crates were found on the beach, all households got to buy a few items, and this one interested Archie.

Bridgette and Archie has 5 kids, 2 are already adults, the others kid to teens.

At the Hawk house, 4 Yea-Low Ring, Beetle was quite upset tonight! For 5 days Joe had been out of the house, but not anymore!
