Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 11 Day 6: A different baby

Early in the morning Beatrice G. Hedgewall at 5 Sunrise Valley felt the urge to get dressed and walk outside to get some fresh air. Then it started, their 3rd baby was arriving...

The baby was... different! Beatrice could hardly believe what she saw, the little boy was green! Not pale like herself, but solid green! Greener than anyone on Maccaroni Island.

A mother can't be blamed to be a bit shocked. Why Beatrice's baby? Had she done something wrong? Was it something she ate during the pregnancy? Instantly she wanted to hide the child from anyone to see.

It's been some time since the volcano drama. There had be no more quakes and the volcano no longer gave a red-ish light above it. The picture below shows that there is still some smoke in the distance, but the mountain area is no longer as foggy as it used to be. From this view we see the old central park, Town Square, and behind it is the Art gallery. Farther back is the House of Law, and the unsuccessful Fish Park, on the foot of the mountain. A bit to the left is the rather new Fort base. Unfortunately both the Fort base and House of Law are pretty close to the mountain.

Over at 3 Greench Farm the twins had forgotten all about the dangers in the mountain, because their cat Miley had a kitten! The kitten looked quite different, so Miley obviously found a mysterious wild life mate.

In the fruit tree garden nearby, Graica was busy harvesting. She and her younger brother Bertil had helped their parents Archie and Bridgette all morning, there was so much to harvest today!

Graica is a young adult, but because she is her generation's only adult, she still lives at Greench Farm.

Graica was a little surprised with the request, but se accepted, and after a few minutes she even looked forward to moving up north to help granny Bianca and uncle Alfonso. She never had much to do with them, but knowing they had 6 real mine cats, the Miozoo cats, really would make the stay very interesting. Graica could hardly wait to tell the other Pets Club members, Albert and Constance.

A little later, she had packed a few belongings, and ate lunch at the farm before leaving for 3 Blumington Road.

Most of the locals never frequented the northern region. Even those fishing at the little pond in the mountain would rather climb the short cut, up from the little graveyard.

Graica's dad had 5 siblings, meaning the Greench blood was in 6 of the households. Graica had never thought of this, but choosing from 3 families would probably give her a few options, and being the oldest girl meant she would get to choose first!

At Greench Farm there are currently 3 households, all descending from Greta and Gabriel Greench. Across the road at 4 Greench Farm, resides the Peel household. Well, only Carie has taken the Peel lastname, Greta and Gabriel are still named Greench, and Carie's mate Albert has kept his family name, Blumington, as they never got married. But the two kids Carie and Albert had, were real Peels.

Greta and Gabriel are very old by now, 114 years! But they are still helping in the garden, that is, they are the only to tend the plants. Carie runs the Bakery, and Albert spends time sculpting at the Warehouse. Their efforts bring in good funds, and they don't really need to be farming.

Russell Hamming is the oldest son of Constance R. and Jess G. Hamming. Jess is son of Greta and Gabriel. His family didn't visit the Peel house, and since Greta retired from her Bistro, leaving the job to Jess, she hardly saw Jess.

Russell had 2 younger brothers who are twins. They were not teens quite yet.

And a little later, they were all seated.

Greta always grew grapes, intending to make nectar. But the only nectar maker machine was sold to Russell's grandmother, Rita Redward, long ago, and had been locked away ever since Rita passed away.

So, would it be possible to force Randal Redward to anything? Unless he was benefiting from it, of course...

Right after lunch, Greta walked down to the Hedgewall house at 5 Sunrise Valley. Greta's legs are not really capable of walking this distance following the roads, but over the hill the distance between Peel and Hedgewall houses is not too bad, and besides - Greta was eager to greet her new grandchild - oh, it was her grandchild number 13!

Greta was surprised like everybody else. But she saw it as a blessing, still.

Greta always wanted someone to to be renamed after Astrantia Major, the last plant person she descended from. There was a strict naming routine though, reusing the first and last letter of the baby's grandparents' names...

It was getting late. Up at 4 Black Heights, near the Maccaroni Mine, Christopher and Bella had rebuilt their little house, with good help from locals. Recently giant rocks somehow rolled down from the mountain, and some of them had smashed he house. The new home is built just a little back, and with 3 daughters, they decided to build a tiny shed for a bathroom, to have one additional bedroom, now occupied by Rebecka.

In the distance the volcano smoke can be seen, and this location is behind the mountain.

Christopher had been working at the House of Law today, when his brother Randal Redward, injured but still aggressive, had claimed Joe Hawk to be arrested for theft. Christopher didn't like the case, but he was in charge of the House of Law, and to keep that position, he had to find Joe Hawk. He looked for him unsuccessfully, then walked back home to eat. Now he was off again to look for a thief.

He stopped by at the Warehouse, knowing Joe Hawk used to hang out there in the past.

Christopher had already checked the Hawk house twice, but nobody were there. This time he was luckier.

Agnes called, and Joe came outside.

Joe had no idea what it was all about, he followed Christopher Black, off they went. Agnes felt bad for a second, then she realized this was something she always wanted, just she, Beetle and the kids. Little Amadeus sitting on her arm. Baby Grim inside in the crib. She had to make sure Joe stayed away, she would not be habile to judge him in a trial, but she could certainly make up a testimony to put him in a very bad light...

To be continued in a very short week :-)
