Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 9 Day 3: Upcoming party

Days go by so quickly, it seems like hundreds of years since the little group of settler families arrived at Maccaroni Island. Roger Redward was one of them, and these days he spends much time at his rather new lighthouse. The water between the lighthouse and the trees seen in the background, is called Arrival Bay.

Roger Redward has not given up hope being rescued.

This morning at 9 Yea-Low Ring, Yespar found it necessary to clarify a few things. His son Alex's family moved in yesterday, but Yespar feels they still respect him as the head of the household. Which he doesn't intend to be.

Agnes visited the Maccaroni Mine at night on several occasions. Yespar wasn't very concerned, but his late wife Yvonne insisted on staying away from that mine. So, he kept Yvonne's memory alive by fulfilling that instruction.

They got a chess table, which suited Dorothy fine. She manages the local Health Care center, and is constantly trying to improve her logic skills.

Dorothy was highly pregnant, expecting to give birth during the day.

Also her twin sister, Constance R. Hamming, was highly pregnant. How funny if the twins would give birth on the same day! Constance is the one loving dogs, her two puppies grew up, and she realize they must be given away. Now she was at the Consignment store.

She walked over to Greta's Bistro.

Bianca Blumington's household is already packed with the wild mine cats, the Miozoos.

A little later Constance returned to their home at 3 Redward Heights, and found her husband Jess cleaning the floor.

Constance had really been busy! She never liked how the community was split in four regions, and although she respected the elderly generation's decisions, a community party was needed!

A little later, in the backyard...

She walked over to the red house where she grew up. They had been a family of six in there, plus the dog Cairo. Now her Father, Roger Redward, lived there all alone. Right now he was not at home, maybe he was visiting her brother Randal across the road?

Randal's son Yamir opened.

On the island there are mainly two areas the residents would call a park, the Town Square (central park) which is very tiny (seen in the background below) and in addition there is a larger field behind the bookstore, where people more often hang out. By the entrance someone did place some pet appliances, although the place is community owned. It will turn into a dog park later on, but that would be too fancy at the moment. Unless Constance would buy the lot and develop it as a business idea?

She found her brother Randal there, with one of his horses and a possible customer, LaShawn Greench from the nearby Greench Farm.

Randal is in many ways a copy of his Father, so he would be honest when saying he never saw the drama.

While Constance checked at the lighthouse, Randal got home for dinner. The horse was not sold, and Randal was frustrated.

Corinne wasn't very happy with her marriages. But was there really any alternatives? Not really. Besides, when giving birth to their 3rd child shortly, they would not try again and gradually move on. Just like her mom, Yvonne, she didn't feel the passion when nursing her children.

Then tragedy struck. Constance found her Father dead by the lighthouse. He was pointing at the ocean, just as if he had seen a ship, giving him a heart attack. Randal and Dorothy were informed, and the three heirs gathered in Roger's house.

The total values after Roger and Rita Redward summed up to impressive §117.000 and included the house, the consignment store and 40% of the available bank shares. Constance got the Consignment store and 10% of the bank shares, Dorothy got 20% of the bank shares, and Randal got the house at 5 Redward Heights and 10% of the bank shares.

The heritage didn't bring Randal any cash, but he got some of the power of his Father. Randal went for a ride, feeling like the island's only good leader. Tomorrow he will find out who will be replacing Roger Redward as the bank owners' representative at the Village Council.

The oil lamp in the light house is still burning. If there was a ship, it passed by without taking notice of the little community.

This is where Constance was planning a party for all. But now that her Father died, will they need to postpone the celebrations? She ended her hectic day by giving birth to boy twins, Gastor and Marvin. Dorothy gave birth to a boy named Yesador, and Corinne had a girl named Yvilla.

Life goes on without Roger Redward. More from Maccaroni Island in 3 days!

  1. Constance has such a big heart which is so wonderful, especially when trying to bring the community together as an actual community instead of few families living on the same island. If memory serves the Consignment Store is next to the Town Hall/would-be dog park...? How fitting she would inherit the store then!

I'm very excited to see what happens at the next Council Meeting with Bella & Christopher's plans to rival Randal's desire for power. =)

  2. Ever since Constance found Cairo in the forest, I think she was quite different from her twin sister, not to say from the Redwards. I didn't see back then that she would try to bring the communit together, though, some of the characters simply go their own way without me directing them :-) The Consignment store and soon-to.be dog park are not approaching lots, it's just a short walk and mainly the grocery store (Greench Market) is in between. On the map the dog park is south of the Bookstore.
    Thanks for (still) reading!
