Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 10 Day 7: Mountain explorers

In this chapter there will be more overview pictures than ever before, not quite a surprise as we're going up to the Maccaroni Mountain for the first time! On the picture below you the eastern part of the mountain to the left, then the Bolan River leading down to Blumington Bridge, and the only two settlements up north.

This morning Alfonso Blumington was visiting his sister Bella B. Black and Christopher R. Black at 4 Black Heights.

It's been two simdays since Christopher won his case against his 3 siblings, and he got a total of §16.793. Then he received bank transfers from Randal Redward, Dorothy R. Yea-Low and Constance R. Hamming. The value transfers included two lots, one in Sunrise Valley and one near the Maccaroni Beach. He didn't mind much that his siblings avoided to give him land in the western region, he just couldn't care less.

Alfonso had hoped that his brother-in-law would be able to become a partner with the Fish Park. But Alfonso owed way too much to the Maccaroni Bank, and was forced to sell the Fish Park.

Alfonso never realized that you need capital in order to start a bigger business. There is no right or wrong time, just lack of capital...

Bianca Blumington has reached the age of 108. She still manages to produce one painting per simday, but is no longer to be seen at the village gallery, where she used to work

Alfonso returned back home, to his old mom and the 6 cats. He is one of 3 men on the island who never found a spouse. He is still just a young adult, and there might be someone for him in the future.

Christopher and Bella sat down in the kitchen to plan the future. They recently made a separate bedroom for the 3 daughters, built a set of bunk beds there, and with room for a single bed later on. The little house is pretty packed by now...

Bella had been busy this morning, while Chris was collecting gems, she had framed and put on the bedroom wall...

Lots of portraits taken with the camera she got from her mom, Bianca. Bella had portrayed all the 4 original male settlers, before Roger Redward and her own dad, Bolan Blumington, died. If she could sell each photo for §500, she would raise lots of funds...?

In the village, at the Consignment store, Greta Greench, also very old, was checking the manufacture supplies. The store is owned by Constance R. Hamming, and she serves the store as Joe Hawk was too old for the job.

Greta had delivered clothes and fabrics to the store for a very long time, but recently she talked her daughter into taking over the job. Because Greta had already produced regular wear, she thought it was smart to start producing warmer clothes, but this was just in Greta's head, and not at all on Beatrice's todo-list.

When they arranged the gathering at Roger's Light, Greta was still working at Greta's Bistro, having good access to most of the equipment required for the event. Now, her son Jess who happened to be married to Constance runs the bistro, so he should be able to help, though.

Over at 3 Greench Farm, Gabriel Greench and Carie G. Peel visited. Graica Greench, oldest daughter of the house, told them about Pepper's accident. During the night some animals must have been attacking old Pepper in his stable, wounding his leg. The horse, originally a tamed wild horse, seemed nervous.

Gabriel had visited Pepper nearly ever day.

Some kids had overheard it all. The twins Godrian and Boletta recently grew up to kids, and they seem to be a happy couple of kids, running about to explore stuff, not really remembering to tell their parents, Archie and Bridgette, where they are heading. Godrian's traits are Artistic, Absent-minded and Neurotic. Boletta's traits are Disciplined, Absent-minded and Vegetarian. Boletta seems to be a bit chubby which is quite exciting because all the women of the past were rather regular.

Godrian never was in the mountain before, but brothers some time get a little bossy...

The Holy Moly Maccaroni story is how the island was named Maccaroni Island. It happened on Week 1 Day 6. That's very long ago, and the next generation might already add creative twists to the true story, and soon there won't be anyone around to correct them...

On the picture above, you see the Greench Farm in the distance. To the right is the old village, the white build is "Our Delightful Bookstore" and the Village Hall and Greench Market can also be seen.

Back home at the farm, Archie and Bridgette were busily harvesting. The work might bring in §1000 on a good day, but they still owe lots of money to the bank.

They thought the wild dogs bit Pepper, but they got no proof as nobody witnessed it.

Graica is a member of the local Pets Club. hey already keep the cat Miley and the horse Pepper, but never had a dog...

Late at night Graica decided to help the Dooshees. She found a bowl and filled it with some dried food. If the dogs were friendly, why couldn't they keep them around? They all looked elderly and grey, and they would not reproduce. But four of them... it would be quite a handful...

Feeling she committed a crime, Graica watched the dogs eat from the bowl. They were hungry, even if there was available crops to eat in the garden. No fences stopped them. She concluded they did not seek the family because of food. So why was their behavior so different? Would she ever find out?

(Oh yes, she will find out, some day soon...)

Another chapter in about 5 days!
