Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 6 Day 6: Joe Hawk's Story

Yesterday the Yea-Lows moved to 9 Yea-Low Ring. They were the last household to leave the village center. The little community will now build more services on the central lots, maybe some of them will be featured in the next chapter.

Yvonne listened to Yespar, and did not walk over to Agnes to check. If she had checked, she would have found her daughter playing with a very dark beetle. Was it one of the "black creatures" that Yvonne brought from the tiny island? How could it find them here, pretty far away from the north side?

The youngest son, Yoseph was playing on the beach. Maccaroni Beach has already become a pretty popular spot for socializing, and yet the place holds absolutely no facilities. Some time ago the Greench farmers built a tiny boat that is stationed here, that's all.

Yoseph found a cool creature on the sand...

The three kids from the Greench Farm arrived the beach. They always make lots of noise, and Yoseph didn't know them very well.

Yoseph wasn't used to deal with young girls' strategies, and was easily confused...

Meanwhile Randal Redward was at his Father's consignment store. Roger Redward wanted to step back gradually, meaning he would no longer serve his store, but will still check for new goods along the shores.

Randal saw this as a temporary job. He and his 3 siblings had been challenged by their Father, to find ways to make money. Randal decided to breed horses for sale, not that it will be easy when there are only 3 wild horses, and he has no clue to how they can be tamed, but he will move out tomorrow morning, and will then have enough heritage from his parents to build a small home and make a living until he can bring home the first horse.

Christopher wanted to live from nature, which will include fishing that their parents clearly disapproved. Then Christopher left the room. More about their conflict a bit down.

Constance will collect minerals and gems. She will need to collect four rocks everyday to pay Randal anyway, or he will tell their parents that she hides Cairo in her bedroom. So, she thought she could just as well collect a few more gems than needed.

Dorothy wants to work with medicine. She convinced her parents that studying logics on a daily basis would be good planning, and she could try to win chess tournaments at the school library in case there was some money reward. She could also help growing the grapes for mom's nectar making.

It was a boring day in the store. A few crates with new stuff was found in Arrival Bay yesterday, and Randal's dad had told him about three books about riding. Randal looked everywhere, he had to get those books before someone bought them! Finally he found them, and put them in his bag, without paying for them.

Randal couldn't get out soon enough. He left the store early to go looking for the wild horses. He understands that observing other animals might be smart, too. He found the little herd, and he knows which horse he wants. In fact he thinks the black with red mane looks stronger, but the brown with black mane is the only mare, and for the horse breeding he figured a mare will make a better start.

They established contact, but not much more. So Randal went home to read about the art of riding. In just one more day he will be on his own and won't need to hide the books when they are not in use.

Constance was a little worried for how much longer she can keep her pet Cairo hidden. She might have to tell her parents soon, it would be smart to help a little extra in the house for the goodwill, even assisting mom with the nectar production.
.

Bad luck... Also Christopher was out of luck today. He had some disagreements with his parents lately. Rita thought it was disrespectful of him to be dating Bella Blumington. And Christopher had suggested to start fishing to bring in money. He could simply have suggested growing grapes, which he already do on and off, so Rita and Roger had to face it - their son was in opposition to the Redward family values.

Okay, dad and son played catch on the beach, but the reason they left the house was that Roger wanted to teach his son a lesson. What the Rendal pride ought to mean to all the family members. Roger tried to be calm, but noticed that Christopher was hard to reach.

Back home it was time for Constance to hand over the daily 4 rocks to Randal. It was a few hours past noon, but Randal could live with that. Constance hated to pay for a secret in this way, but now that Randal was moving out, the payments would probably stop.

Constance kept asking herself if she should simply set little Cairo free. There was too much fuss around it all. When she moved out she could hope to find a similar pet in the woods? (See today's poll!)

At this time Roger and Yvonne had an appointment in the back room of the consignment store, with the recently captured stranger, Joe Hawk. He showed up precisely.

Well, maybe not...?

Meanwhile, Christopher had had enough.

Randal has no wish to tell, instead he would be very pleased if the household's values was to be shared between 3 and not 4. It would be more on his hands!

It's getting late. Over at the Yea-Low household, Yvonne was preparing some late meal. It had been some busy days, and the meeting with Joe Hawk had brought back lots of memories from the sinking of MS Mathilda and the first horrible days on the tiny island where they stranded. She thought they had come a long way since them.

Oops, I forgot to mention that Yvonne had given up to understand why Agnes screamed for Beetle in her sleep! So, they renamed the weird doll, it's new name is Beetle.

To be continued in 2 more days :-)
