Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 6 Day 7: The wedding

Just a quick note; Last night, in the forest near the Greench Farm, Archie Greench finally proposed marriage to Bridgette Blumington! Was there ever any doubt? They will be the first married couple of the new generation, and the wedding takes place at the Greench Farm today!

This morning Bianca Blumington and her household was getting ready to attend the wedding. It starts at 3 PM and it's still early morning, but lots to do. Bridgette moved in with Archie a little earlier. The household at 3 Blumington Road now counts 5 persons; Bolan and Bianca, Bella who is adult, Albert who is teen, and Alfonso still a child. All belongings were counted, and Bridgette got §7.370. It's not a lot of money, but she will do fine because Archie already has a nice farm house. As Bridgette got all the cash, the problem will strike when Bella moves out shortly - then all values are tied up in the house and owned items, and they will need to take up a bank loan to help Bella with some starter cash.

Well, someone knocked on the door, it was Christopher Redward. He ran away from home after midnight (see Week 6 Day 6), and now he was quite exhausted.

Christopher stepped inside, and Bella was there. He knew she grew up, and she looked more beautiful than ever before. If you thought Bridgette looked like Bianca, Bella is even more a copy of their mom.

But the Blumingtons don't have a stove. They could never afford a windmill for electricity, and all they can serve is Autumn Salad, made of vegetables they grow outside. But they got a toilet and a shower, that both can be upgraded.

Bella and Christopher had been dating previously, but I'm not quite sure about their relation now that they are on different ages. They were never going steady.

Meanwhile, at Greench Farm they were busily preparing for the big party. They had the set up ready, and Greta was baking some pies to serve after the ceremony. Gabriel would pick up some more chairs from the neighbours, but found the time to greet his friend, the black and white wild horse. They have a good relation, but Gabriel has realized he will need to master the art of riding in order to tame the horse.

Yesterday he ran into Roger Redward who runs the Consignment store. Gabriel was told that Roger had found a crate including some books, and 3 books about riding was on the table in the store.

So, Joe Hawk is already serving the Consignment store? That was quick, he was offered the job just yesterday. He also is an Animal lover, after all he befriended two of those wild dogs, and he keeps a talking parrot, Emmy. But Gabriel got no books. Did Joe Hawk put them aside for himself?

Also Bianca Blumington paid a quick visit to the store. She knew they couldn't afford it, and it wasn't important to her daughter either, but nevertheless Bianca wanted to buy a small gift for the wedding. She bought a cheap bowl, almost without scratches.

So, Bianca lied. She normally doesn't, but it felt right to lie on this particular cause.

The central area isn't coming along as quickly as I expected. Everyone has been busy, and only the Consignment store and the Greench market (grocery) were completed. But there are many plans.

Bianca returned back home. She, Bella and Alfonso got ready, sat down and waited for Bolan and Albert who were working in the mine. It dragged out, but finally they were at the door. With a surprise.

Bella was rather sour, while their mom Bianca was speechless. Wild cats? In their household?

Finally, they walked over to the Greench Farm, everyone got seated in the nicely decorated fruit garden. On the left side you see (the backs of) Albert, Alfonso, Carie and Greta (trying not to cry loudly), in front of them sit Bolan and Bianca. On the right side, Gabriel and Bella in front, and Cody, Beatrice, LaShawn and Jess on the back row. Most of them dressed up in their finest clothes - although finest doesn't necessarily mean very nice on this little island.

The ceremony is about to start, and the pictures don't really need lots of text...

So, they are married! Hooray! Gabriel Greench was extremely proud, witnessing it all from first row. He had full faith in that his son Archie would make the Greench family proud, taking their farm many steps further. Old men are allowed to cry, but Gabriel didn't, he was just very happy.

Then Greta Greench served her speciality, the lime pie! Not exactly a buffet, but it was a lovely treat.

The party went on, lots of small talk, pie eating, and a good tone between the Greench and Blumington families.

Bella is the island's only adult woman not in a formal relation with anyone. Yet... And Jess Greench is single, too.

We're leaving the party. They didn't go to bed early, they ate, danced, talked and played games. Too much for just one chapter, really. Now - let there be many Bridgette-Archie babies!

More from Maccaroni Island in just two days!

  1. Cute, I'm excited to see what the kids look like. And it'll be interesting to see who Bella ends up with in the end. Love the 'wild' cats also. I don't have pets (on sims), so it's nice to be able to see it.
