Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 7 Day 1: Central Maccaroni

Today's chapter is about much more than the central parts of Maccaroni, but because a quick guiding of the central lots was promised a few chapters ago, I figured it deserved the title :-)

Recently there was a one-day poll on the blog inviting you to decide little Cairo's faith. It was decided that he must be introduced to the parents of the house, it seems that most of you want him to stay in the household. Constance gets a little help from her twin sister Dorothy, they keep the little animal in their bedroom.

The Redwards have not yet heard from their youngest son, Christopher, who ran off yesterday morning. This morning Rita had invited their oldest son, Randal, over for breakfast. He moved out yesterday, and has built a little house across the road. He has not told anyone about the chat he had with Christopher the night before he disappeared.

Be patient, Rita, it will soon enough be your turn to host a wedding!

Over at the Yea-Low household, Agnes has left toddler stage. She acts a little weird at times, or is it just that Yvonne is too old to laugh at silly childish stuff like fighting with nobody?

Agnes has the traits Neurotic, Artistic and Unlucky. Those traits might actually go very well with a possible curse of the past...

The bookstore has been planned for some time. Yvonne did originally collect books from everyone, and placed them in the school library. But books kept disappearing, it was not at all a good routine. A bookstore where used books can be sold and bought, will probably work much better. Everyone needs more money, and will sell books they no longer need. This far the Consignment store sold some books, but from now on "Our Delightful Bookstore" will take over.

Yvonne likes to have full control, but that just isn't possible all the time...

So, let's take a quick tour of the new community lots! The following pictures were all taken from the central park where the original Consignment store was built. Now they've cut most of the huge trees, making the surrounding lots to blend in much better.

The picture below is facing south, the lot is 1 Yvonne Drive, that's where the Greench family originally lived. The white and red building is "Our Delightful Bookstore", initiated by the bookworm, Yvonne Yea-Low. Compared to the other buildings, this looks like it is protecting big values. And at least to Yvonne, it is!

The blue build is Greench Market, which functions as a grocery store. It's pretty cosy and traditional, and Bridgette (Blumington) Greench works there part time. Produce from the Greench Farm is sold there.

The next picture is facing west, 1 Sunny Road. To the right is the new Consignment store, run by Roger Redward, but currently served by Joe Hawk. As new services will pop up, this store will mostly be frequented by artists, but there is a room in the back, where they plan to have a bar as soon as Rita Redward's nectar making reaches a certain quality level. It might drag in some more customers.

The smaller build to the left is the little theater stage. A smal shed was added to form a back wall, but also for storing future stage equipment and decorations.

The next picture is facing east, they just moved the Village Administration house to the Yea-Low's old lot at 1 Yea-Low Ring. Yvonne Yea-Low serves the office occasionally, but always on the first day of the week when the bank charges all loans 10% interest. Today is the first day of the 7th week, and the bank charged a total of §3.760!

On the central park lot (Town Square to-be) they chose to keep the old Consignment store. It serves as a storage for hay and crates, and the observant reader will see a hitching post for horses along the fence. Yes, hopefully some households will soon have horses!

The last picture is facing north, that address is 1 Redward Elysee (über fancy name, isn't it obvious that Rita Redward suggested it?). Bianca Blumington's old gallery was expanded and slightly moved, it now offers two rooms for exhibitions, toilet, and a small studio where Bianca will produce a set of paintings showing the current village.

Over at Redward Heights, the western part of Maccaroni Island, Randal Redward built a little house. Tonight his girlfriend, Corinne Yea-Low was visiting. They are sort of victim to their families' deal of having their children married, but these two are happy together, it doesn't feel like a forced relation to either of them. Corinne just grew up, and they are now both old enough to establish a family - if they like!

They are both a little weird personality wise, but I think they got interesting looks. If they end up having kids, it will be interesting to see how their expressions will blend. I mean, all details are different! I can't wait!

And then, maybe not the greatest surprise, but still...

The wedding will be up in two days, Randal would like to tame that wild horse first, otherwise Corinne would practically be on her own while he is out hunting.

Someone seems to get the life they want, while others were less lucky. Corinne's old parents are both bookworms, and when they married there wasn't really talk about having children at all. Then they stranded, and they were dragged into a bigger plan to secure their own survival.

It's much easier to just read on...

Let's end this chapter where it started, over at the original Redwards. Everyone went to bed one hour ago, and Rita woke up due to some noise.

And then... the time had come for Cairo to grow up... he tried to wake up his best friend forever, without waking up the entire house...

Constance realized that she had been keeping a wild dog puppy for a pet. But it used to be so cute! And it still is! And, why are parents so unfair!

To be continued in 2 days!

  1. Cool! So Cairo is probably going to be set free?

  2. Hi! Yep, it was part of the Redward/Yea-Low deal to merge familes. Maybe Randal and Corinne didn't romancing much, but they certainly did hang out, knowing about the deal.

And Cairo... well, I'm not sure, he is even house broken, Constance better have a talk with Joe. He tamed a couple wild dogs already, they are said to behave when they are isolated from the pack.

  3. Haha, Randal getting married. :D
And I hope Cairo gets to stay, even though he may be a wild dog.
