Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 7 Day 3: Befriending a horse - and a wife

Finally! It was the day Rita Redward at 5 Redward Heights had been waiting for - today their oldest son Randal would marry Corinne Yea-Low! It would take place at the little theater, that Rita recently talked others into upgrading, a little new storage was built, and they got better chairs to be used in front of the stage, only. Rita had picked some suitable decorations, and although they really couldn't waste lots of money on such an event, she was satisfied. It would be done with style! Today, her son would be on that stage, getting married!

First child getting married felt like some reward. They already lost one son, when Christopher ran away after romancing one of the less fortunate Blumington girls, they cut him off from heritage. He actually chose not to be a true Redward. That's why Randal is now considered their only son. The twins, Constance and Dorothy, are still teens, but will hopefully marry the Yea-Low boys, shortly.

Rita spent several hours to get her formal outfit ready, and to look her best. She really missed her make-up. Back in SimCity, at the time she met Roger, she worked as a sales woman, selling cosmetics to the salon segment. She knew the product line very well, and learned to use colors with care. But here on the island there is no make-up - yet! Rita was planning to create some! The Maccaroni women would certainly adore here forever, escpecially those reaching a certain age of fading beauty.

Before the wedding, let's have some Cairo news! The little friend Constance found in the forest, that just grew up to be a scary wild dog. Well, Cairo is still Constance's very best friend forever!

Yesterday Roger and Constance brought Cairo to the Consignment store where Joe Hawk works. Joe had confirmed that Cairo definitely is a wild dog, that Joe calls the Dooshees, and Joe told them how Constance could still keep it as a pet. The Dooshees get aggressive only as a group, but just one or two of them will hardly do any harm, and they won't even care to have much contact with the wild Dooshees. Rita was the only one still wanting them to kick Cairo out, but Constance talked them into keeping him, and that he will move out with her shortly.

At the Village administration house Yvonne Yea-Low was completing the community lot plans. They already built several of the services, and these days they were building a warehouse, sports facilities, and well... A piece of land was even reserved for a graveyard, but Yvonne thought they could arrange a nice park there... for the time being.

Then Yvonne got back home to get ready for the wedding, that's when she noticed something on Agnes' face.

Yvonne was shocked to find the egg. If it was an egg? In a way it reminded her of the black creatures she brought to this island long ago. If this wouldn't stop very soon, she would simply turn insane!

Although it was his wedding day, Randal Redward was more busy with the wild horses. He had promised himself that before the wedding, he would manage to befriend the brown wild horse. And so he did! He had been reading up on riding for days, and he learned a lot about horse psychology as well. He also had a talk with Joe Hawk who is a self declared Animal friend.

Roger named the horse Bliss, and brought it home to his little ranch. A tiny stable was built behind the house. Corinne, who moved in this morning, was impressed with them now having a horse in their household. She told him to hurry though, they had to attend their own wedding in one hour!

The Yea-Low and Redward families were gathered in front of the stage. Rita's decorations made a nice setting for the little ceremony. Corinne was lovely in a skirt and with some light fabric wrapped around her upper body. Rita couldn't help thinking that her own wedding dress back in SimCity looked millions times better, but well, on this island they can't have whatever they want.

And the ceremony started. Suddenly it became much more serious to Corinne - she was about to get married! She was about to say yes to live with this insane man for years to come! Randal was calm with the wedding and excited about Bliss, and he hoped the ceremony and following party would not drag out forever.

Neither Roger nor Rita Redward allowed the absence of their second son to ruin this family event. He was simply not worth missing, and they could not do much to change it. But IF they had turned, they would have seen that Christopher actually was witnessing the wedding from the corner of the Consignment store. He didn't want them to see him, because it would have drawn attention away from the couple.

The party was held in the back room of the Consignment store. Cake and nectar. A short hour later the happy couple could return to the little ranch, and the guests spread.

Dorothy and Constance had so much to discuss after the wedding. It was their first, and they both knew that it might soon be their turn. Dorothy is practically dating Corinne's brother, Alex Yea-Low. Constance isn't really dating anyone, so they pull jokes about Joe Hawk. When Constance and Roger visited Joe Hawk the other day, bringing Cairo who recently grew up, Joe had made it clear that he expected to have either Constance or Dorothy for his wife! Roger had of course protested. The girls laugh at it, because they feel pretty safe that none of them will end up as a poor Mrs Joe Hawk.

Randal and Corinne resides the huge lot across the road from his parents at Redward Heights. He spent a couple hours riding Bliss, the flat heights behind his house was perfect for riding! The forest is open, and there are no roads crossing.

While riding, Randal was thinking of his plan to breed horses for sale. He would need to tame one more wild horse to get started, and hope that the new horse would go along well with Bliss. There was a black and white wild horse - that horse would probably give good variety if bred with Bliss! He better get on befriending it tomorrow!

Yvonne thought everything about the wedding had been as good as they could expect. After the cake and Rita's not so perfect nectar, Yvonne walked over to "Our Delightful Bookstore" to sort just a few books. The children joined her.

Yvonne did not appreciate this conversation. She knew the Redwards well, and she had no problems with the deal she made with Roger Redward long ago. The Yea-Low and Redward families had decided to team up, and it wasn't really an option to marry into the two other families. Both Randal and Corinne had accepted the plan, and everyone knew there wasn't many spouses to choose from anyway. Neither of them had ever dated someone else, the marriage was hardly arranged at all. So what was the point of Yoseph and Alex bringing up the subject? Alex already dated one of the Redward girls, maybe they tried to tell her that Yoseph had found a girlfriend not fitting with the plan?

After a while Alex, Yoseph and Agnes walked back home, and Yvonne stopped at the Village administration house for a short while to consider ownership to the land. She had to initiate a meeting where they would agree on each family's ownership. Then someone was at the door.

Each adult and elderly resident of Maccaroni Island has one account. When money is being transfered, they come to this office to make sure the transfer is noted. This far Yvonne has taken care of the notes, as well as the deposits and loans.

Yvonne had no idea that Christopher Redward is hiding with the Blumingtons! But that is not according to plans! Should she inform Roger Redward, the boy's father? Yvonne was speechless, then handled the transfer, and left the office.

To be continued in 2 more days!
