Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 5 Day 2: Blue talk

This morning the Greench household was up even earlier than usual. They had worked hard on establishing a small farmer's market just outside their little house, facing the park. The idea was to sell fresh harvests, and the location was fine because most locals would visit the park during the day. The Consignment store didn't sell food, so Gabriel thought of this as a supplement.

They also sold a few potted flowers, and clay pots.

Right. Roger Redward was following the activities across the park closely - all day. He was suspicious, and he knew that Gabriel Greench was one of the few who didn't support him, Roger, without questions.

And Rita was sitting at the fire pit, relaxing for a short while. She noticed how Roger looked at her, it made her feel attractive!

Over at the new café, Greta had just checked out the facilities. It was a very small building, but what more did they need? There were 3 tables outside, if it got to busy she could always add a table inside. She had been cleaning the counters and tables, she felt really excited about it all! Now she was ready to open Greta's Bistro!

And a few neighbours stopped by, Bolan, Bridgette and little Albert.

Well, no food today. It turns out that food can't even be prepared at the café, so Greta will cook at home and bring the dish to be served at the bistro.

A few hours later, Bolan had joined the Greench guys, and they had worked hard for a few hours. The bridge was done!

Bolan will cross the bridge almost daily, he works in the mountain, and he prefers the north side fishing spots. Now, if there only were roads, and some cars... He had already managed to mix some asphalt, and the sand was good for cement, too. Building a few roads wasn't really a problem, but even Bolan realized that they had to go little by little, bit by bit. The others might want streets in the village instead of to the far north.

Bolan returned back home. The next project was to build Bianca's art gallery. It was a quick job compared with the bridge and soon to come streets. But once again their finances failed.

Few minutes later they were seated indoor. I think it's like a new era now that all families have an enclosed house. They only need some bright paint (and electricity) to bring more light to the rooms, it's pretty dark everywhere even during the day.

Just like her mom, Bella is a Shy person.

Bianca told that most carriers of the CA66 were commonly programmed to search partners with similar unique genes. That's quite normal behavior for any DNA that is unique. Bianca's dad had been the exception to the rule when he founded his family with a normal woman. Bianca's mom, Bette, was not at all of alien heritage, so Bianca and her sister Babsi got very differt looks. Babsi had normal skin and red hair from their mom, while Bianca got the pale blue skin and blond hair from their dad.

There are no CA66 men for Bridgette and Bella on Maccaroni island, so they would need to blend with other genes. Such blending would need certain precautions, which they will talk about when it's time to choose spouses. The girls were fine with this.

Bolan explained that the statue was found on the beach where they first stranded, and they liked it a lot, and chose it when the four couples split and shared some items.

The girls were not quite comfortable with the talk session. Being a little selective about spouses was okay, but the rule could probably also be broken without setting the land on fire. But they worried about so many things, while they had no idea what questions to ask to trigger the truth.

Bridgette actually worried a lot about Archie. Even if he respected her story, she wasn't sure she could go on with it. What if their child turned out to be a real alien? That would be freaking scary!

Right, one redhaired granny, Bette, was normal, but why didn't they mention the other 3?

So much to think about. So hard to fall asleep. If their granny Bette chose to marry a blue guy, she must have looked terrible in the first place? But Bianca is rather sweet looking, both her parents couldn't be that bad looking? And how much of an blue alien was their grandfather? So many questions...

Then Bridgette and Bella fell asleep.

To be continued in 2 days!

  1. I don't think they should worry so much about their alien heritage.

And they're expanding into modern day society bit by bit, I can't wait!

  2. Hi! In a few chapters they will get streets and a few more community lots. I think they will be able to paint their houses as well :D

Btw, did you notice there is a wild animal on one of the pictures? I thought it would appear on next chapter, but I was wrong...
