Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 5 Day 6: Breaking up

This morning was hectic over at the Blumingtons. Bolan was up early because he wanted to go fishing before working on the roads. He and Bianca were discussing moving to the north side, then suddenly Albert grew up to a child. When you want to do everything right and then are surprised by your kid's birthday, well - it certainly doesn't feel fine.

Albert seems to be a good boy, his traits are Clumsy, Absent-minded and Shy. Just like his 3 siblings, he got a pretty low success factor. Each sim has a success factor, inherited from its parents. More details on that some other day!

So, Albert joined Bolan and Bella, and they walked over to the north side to cach the biggest fish.

They visited the same fishing spot as earlier, but at least there are 3 or 4 different spots that Bolan frequents regularly. Going more places means a bigger chance to find the stranger.

Bridgette had not been in the mood to join them. She had way too much on her mind, as she walked over to the tiny central park. There she saw Archie, her boyfriend. He was the one she looked for!

So, whatever this could result in, Bridgette felt better now that she had finally made a step.

At the Greench farm the entire family was outside. It was in their nature to spend as much time as possible outdoors. And this day held several bithdays! First the youngest son grew up to a child, Cody has the traits Insane, Perceptive and Vegetarian. Because his 3 brothers are already pushing adulthood, it feels like Cody and his even younger sisters, the twins Beatrice and Carie, have been more or less neglected.

The farmer couple had a total of 6 kids. It's the largest household, and it means that 2 of the kids might not find a spouse. Very sad, but also very true.

Next to grow up was the twins reaching adults; LaShawn was first, he got the Hydrophobic trait from his mom, Greta. LaShawn is not as interested in farming as his younger brother Archie, he wants to rather focus on limited production, perhaps for nectar making. He has no girlfriend yet, and there are no adult females to choose from yet, either.

His twin brother Jess was next. He got the Angler trait. He is interested in cooking, and he has already been fishing quite some time. He is not interested in farming, but likes to help at Greta's Bistro. Like LaShavn, Jess is single, too.

They had a quick celebration, but without any guests. Gabriel likes to have visitors, but with the two toddlers in the house, most guests get easily distracted.

Archie had not told the others about Bridgette breaking up. He didn't want to ruin his brothers' birthdays.

Greta wasn't in shock, she knew what it was like to be a teenager in love, how quickly the new emotions could twist and turn, and that a teen romance wouldn't always last forever. The fact that she met Gabriel as a teen, and ended up with 6 kids, didn't mean that teens normally stick together for the rest of their lives. She could live with all that, but she couldn't bare seeing Archie this sad.

She walked over to the Blumingtons, and there she found Bianca in the gallery. Bianca seemed to be deep into her artistical inspirations.

Greta knew she shouldn't have interfered, at least not until a few days after the break up, but she was convinced there was some misunderstanding behind it all. Maybe Bridgette saw a problem that was not really there? Greta knew about the Blumington's background, well, she thought she knew. It was not a problem, but maybe a teen girl saw it differently. The Greench family had their heritage as well, but why should they focus on that, here on a small island far away from everything?

Greta found Bridgette inside. It was obvious that the girl had been crying. But starting any discussion was out of the question.

Greta realized she had been too direct, and she left in disappointment.

When Bolan was back from working on the roads, Bianca told him about Greta's visit and the teens. Neither Bolan nor Bianca would push their kids, the only way to become one happy individual was to make your own decisions and learn to live with them. But this time, it felt different.

Bianca had not looked forward to the day when she would need to tell the kids about granny Eileen. But now there seemed to be no way avoiding it. Bridgette had to know.

To be continued in.... two days! :-)
