Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 6 Day 3 - Searching for Agnes

Yesterday was a rather busy day. Not only did little Agnes Yea-Low disappear in the forest, and Constance Redward brought home a secret fury friend. The Greench family maybe had an even busier day - as they left the little green house south of the central park, and build a mew farm just a little farther south.

Gabriel and Greta found starting a new farm was a good opportunity for them to step back. They counted all their heirlooms, and shared a total of §45.492 equally between their 6 kids - according to normal procedure back in Goodhill - long ago.

Archie Greench became the new head of the Greench Farm. He has been the most eager in the garden. His 3 younger siblings as well as Gabriel and Greta were to be part of his household, and it also helped him to spend the 4 heir lots instead of just 1. Gabriel and Greta owns nothing now, and when the 3 siblings eventually grow up and move out, they will get a new equal share. Archie borrowed §11.500 from the bank, allowing him to build a rather big house right away.

The house has only one big bedroom, but right now the outdoors is more interesting. There is a regular farm plot, as well as the fenced in apple tree garden. Archie plans to grow 6 plants of all kinds of produce. For the start there is mostly the same species that they grew previously.

But there is also a temporary plot, intended for unknown seeds Archie finds in the forest. It takes many days to decide what he grows there, but one day he hopes to find a plant he did not grow already, and move it to the regular plots.

The oldest boys, LaShawn and Jess, moved out and established just across the road. They got the old greench farm  house, and borrowd §3.000 each from the bank to get what they needed.

This morning LaShawn found a scared little chinchilla next to the house. He brought it home as a pet, and named it Linda.

LaShawn is kinda interested in growing fruits for nectar making, but at the time he grows just anything to raise some funds. He received some good quality produce from his parents, to plant new. This picture shows how close they live. The entire area is called Greench Farm.

The Blumington still lives just north of the central park, but that will soon change.

Yay, house paint, finally! I don't think they will care a lot about the exterior quite yet, it would be too expensive as they still need so many other things, but I think they want something less rustic on the living room walls, the least.

Over the past days there have been lots of flowers at the door - supposedly for Bridgette.

Bridgette thought she knew who secretly brought her flowers. They might even be picked in a secret garden in the woods.

Then they heard someone knocking at the door (or next to the arch, rather), and Greta Greench was visiting. Greta and Bianca used to be close friends, but lately they didn't meet often. Now that everyone moves into new areas, there might be even less contact.

Bridgette joined them, and Rita Redward with daughter Dorothy came, too. They all gathered in front of the Yea-Low house.

Bianca, who started this all, is a Shy person, it's rather cute how someone who lived that long is still too shy to appreciate eye contact with the nearest neighbour...

They marched into the forest, being this many they could easily check a larger area for anything that might have belonged to Agnes. They walked and walked, and at the time they actually lost track on where they were, the ancient stones appeared. So everyone knew they were just south of the settler village. But still they had found nothing, and everyone thought it was strange because this was the area where Agnes was taken away.

It was indeed a sad moment for Yespar and Yvonne, but at least they had checked the area much more thoroughly with good assistance. They could only hope they would get an answer eventually.

Bridgette didn't go home after all the walking. She felt depressed for the missing toddler, but she was also sad on her own behalf - something was missing in her life. Maccaroni Beach was near by, she walked down there to catch the fresh sea breeze. She noticed one of the wild dogs were there, too. She wondered what the animal was thinking while gazing at the horizon. Did it realize what was out there? It probably couldn't imagine how there was anything more than Maccaroni Island.

Bridgette had only some vague memories from the tiny island farther south. She was a child when they moved, and now she was an adult. Some memories that were very clear to her, was from this very beach...

But the wild dog wasn't interested in the ocean for long. It soon approached Bridgette, barked at her and behaved rather aggressive. Bridgette was scared, she wanted it to leave, but the more she shoo'ed it, the more aggressive it got. It was packed with flees, and it didn't smell good either. Could it be one of the animals that were involved when Agnes Yea-Low disappeared? Better not move, maybe it would go away?

It was not working. Not even when Archie Greench came running, the wild dog moved.

They left Maccaroni Beach, and walked into the forest.

Archie had always been wild about cakes! And they got a windmill? That meant electricity, which Bridgette's folks did not have yet. But maybe tomorrow... They agreed that Bridgette should visit Greench Farm as soon as her family had moved to the new land up north.

Then an unexpected sound caught their attention... was it... could it be...?!!!

They walked quite a bit, but it was easy to follow the sound. Indeed, it was the voice of a child, and it was eager and sounded quite comfortable.

They were very excited and couldn't wait to tell the Yea-Lows what they found. It was getting very late, but this certainly was a reasonable excuse for waking them up!

Meanwhile, Bridgette's younger sister Bella was on a secret date! She had met Christopher Redward, just outside the Redward house. She didn't talk to anyone there but Christopher, and she absolutely had no wish of seeing his mom. Not now, anyway. Bella and Christopher are new to dating, maybe they are not really a couple, but they might be.

Bianca was up very late this last day on the old address. She took the opportunity to paint some paintings from the settler village. She knew the area would change rapidly now that the households spread. When the Blumingtons move north, the Yea-Lows will be the only family living near the central park.

Bianca was too busy to notice the two young adults running over to the Yea-Lows to wake them up.

To be continued in 2 days.

  1. Ooh. I have a pretty good idea of what Bridgette and Archie found, but maybe they found something else instead? I guess I'll have to wait until Saturday to see. :)

The world is coming along nicely. I like the gradual evolution of the structures, apparently Yespar is doing a very good job with that workbench of his!

And sorry for the delay today, I'm working on the new chapter right now, but it included some building and took longer than I expected. Will be up soon! :D
