Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 6 Day 1 - Granny Eileen

First, just a short note that there will soon be more background info! I'm preparing interactive maps with info on each household for a start.

This morning the Greench family was up very early harvesting. They are about to move the farm a little further south-east, according to the plans to move everyone out from the center of the village. They will start from scratch on the new address, but at least they got some high quality produce for making new plants.

Gabriel had offered to help Bolan Blumington to prepare the Blumingtons' new lot up north. It was a rather bare area, with little vegetation. Gabriel didn't quite understand that anyone found the place attractive, but well, preferances are different.

While waiting for Bolan, Gabriel heard some sounds near the ocean, it turned out to be the local herd of wild horses! He had seen them just once before, long ago, but never got close to them. Now, with the new and bigger farm coming up, Gabriel was thinking of how useful it would be keeping a horse. Besides the company, cleaning its stable would give them great fertilizer for free!

But how time consuming would befriending a wild horse be? Maybe he should just let go of that idea...

A little later, back home, Jess was taking his turn at the farm's sales. It was a quiet day, though, he could certainly do something wiser.

And they walked inside to the still very primitive kitchen. Greta, with many years of experience from a real busy Bistro, really looked forward to using a stove and refrigerator.

Meanwhile, Bianca Blumington had finally taken a deep breath, calling the kids in to tell them some more about their ancestors.

Bianca told them that Eileen was also granny to their dad, Bolan. She first had a daughter Brugilla Baxter, and later a son Alfonso Black and daughter Jane Black - the kids had 2 different dads. Brugilla Baxter was Bolan's mom, and Alfonso Black was Bianca's dad. Bolan and Bianca were only half-cousins, which wasn't considered a problem.

Bridgette seems to be deep down into some serious considerations. Not sure what impact this story might have.

Over at Greta's Bistro, the Autumn salad was served! It was the first time Greta served a full dish, and not just fresh fruit.

And it didn't take long before the first guests appeared. The bistro won't just be a place to eat free food, but also for sharing some gossips, it seems :-) And yes, Bianca Blumington just became elderly.

It was getting dark. The bistro closed, and Bianca spent the rest of the night in her little gallery. She loves to paint, and she has decided to paint more motives from the Maccaroni Island. It might be a valuable treasure 100 years from now! It would be easier if she could find her camera, though. Now that electricity isn't really a problem, she could ask Yespar Yea-Low to invent a power recharger for the camera.

Finally, tonight also Bolan became elderly. He wasn't quite prepared, why now - when there is so much hard work to be done!

To be continued in two days!

  1. Poor Bridgette. A lot of new information is crashing down on her at once. She and Archie are adorable together though. I hope they get/stay together, class order be darned!

It's kind of rewarding and depressing to see the original castaways turn into elders. :( Oh well, hopefully the 2nd generation will do them justice!

Greta's bistro is coming along nicely. Also, I love the picture of the wild horses. They blend in seamlessly with your world! :)

I'm still curious about that dead something, and the mysterious stranger...*ponders*

  2. Hi mmmcheezy225! Glad you are still following :D Yep, I think the wild life suits the island perfectly. I don't mind wild horses roaming about either when there are this few buildings. And, I don't see them every day unless I go looking for them. The next generation is about to grow up - it will not takle long before they have their first kids, and now is when it might get interesting DNA-wise!
