Week 2 Day 5: Baby boom

This morning Yvonne woke up to the lovely view she had grown used to. Most mornings she looked at the ocean for a while untill she got out of bed. Maybe they should cut some of those trees, it would be terrible if a ship passed unnoticed!

Yesterday Yvonne was out of the "house" most of the day. She had cleaned the toilet and shower at the beach, she also took a walk to the Northern Beach to look for more fruits. Still just lime fruits, she ate one of them right there. She planned to check again in a couple days.

Lately, Yvonne had not been feeling too well. She thought it wasn't caused only by the pregnancy. She could not wait to get back to normal!

  Yespar has been busy with his working bench. He already crafted his first Claw Dipper, which he consigned at Roger's beach store. Now he felt ready for the big project, connecting the cell phones to strengthen their signal.

Yespar had not told Yvonne about the other island. Maybe he should. There was no point in building a better home now, if they would soon move over to new land anyway. The more they would need to bring to the Maccaroni land, the more complicated.

After harvesting all the food, they walked down to Arrival Beach. Roger was serving the store, and Yvonne consigned just a little of their harvest, because it was too much for them to eat. Then she felt a sudden pain.

This was actually a very very sweet moment, because Yvonne and Yespar normally don't pay much attention to romance and emotions.

Yvonne's maiden name was Jones. She never quite accepted to get rid of it...

Back home, Corinne was put to sleep, and Yvonne relaxed with one of her old books. She had to exchange books with the others! There had to be a way to read something new! A reading club? Nah, they were too few residents, and except Yespar and herself, hardly anyone spent time reading.

Although Yvonne wasn't really all that interested to start with, she couldn't concentrate on the book for very long. She simply had to check on Corinne.

Yespar called Roger, and they met on top of the island. It was time to move on...

Roger didn't mean to get upset, but he is the bossy type. When he has a plan, he has a plan. Yespar never quite caught that. But using shelters for rafts did sound like a good idea.

Then they split. Both filled with excitement for tomorrow. Will they succeed?

When Roger got home, he found Rita making those pushy sounds.

And it was a boy!

Rita felt something was wrong. Why all this passion? She got a terrible feeling that Roger had done something he did regret. Was there something in the accusements from Bianca Blumington after all? Was there - or had there been - any feelings between Roger and Yvonne that Rita had not noticed? She remembered the surprise when Roger suggested Yvonne to run the bank, Rita could have done that job just as well, if not better!

It was a nervous night for both of them... In two days we will all find out what tomorrow brings :-)
