Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 3 Day 4: Expanding Homes

Another day, another joy - at least to some...

The Redward household sure has got a dedicated heir! In the background you see the Blumington house to the north...

... and in the south is the Greench house. The houses are pretty close, and a young king's voice can easily be heard in the entire "kingdom".
Yes, there wasn't just one king in action this morning...
Quite a lively morning!

The twins, Jess and LaShawn, were often together while their younger brother Archie tried his best to join them. The twins got quite similar looks, so Jess is the one wearing a green ribbon on his arm.
Greta is a pretty well skilled cook, but with no electricity it's hard to even make Autumn salat. Anyway, the hut was expanded, from a shelter to a small house with two bedrooms. Quite an upgrade, even if a full kitchen is missing. No floor yet, but soon...

They don't know much about this place yet. Is Maccaroni really an island? Could it be even larger than they think? Maybe there is another, civilized island further north? If they will be rescued soon, they wouldn't really try hard for the forth child. But if they need to stay, they will need to accomplish their part of the deal of having 4 kids per household.

The boys were very happy with their new beds. Twins in bunkbeds, Archie in the regular bed...
And then they fell asleep. It's still not dark outside, but they hardly slept the night before.

Here is an overview facing north, showing how the Park with consignment store and bath facilities is in the center. It's quite practical because they don't need to walk far to any destination.

The Yea-Low family is located to the east. They already planted lots, and Yvonne is cleverly organizing everything.
Yvonne isn't really interesting in farming, but she is a great planner and she is dedicated to almost everything she does. Now she planted whatever they got, just to secure their food. Later on she will only grow a few sorts, maybe just a small apple garden.

Yvonne could agree or disagree, but all in all it sounded like a plan she could stick with. Roger was of a very fine family, and he had 2 sons that Corinne could choose from. Maybe it would not be that much forced, and  after all the number of candidates would be very limited even without the plan.

Yvonne took the opportunity to suggest something she had been thinkong of...
Land would not be a problem. Workers would. In this little village they would all need to help when new facilities were to be added. So, they will need to go little by little.
It almost sounds like toddler Corinne was already engaged. I think it's a tad early.

Yespar and Yvonne expanded their shelter, too. Two bedrooms, but still just one child.

Yvonne has a dream of becoming a Movie Composer, so she often plays the guitar they found on the beach of the other island. She is pretty good already, but maybe it doesn't quit suit her style. Well, styles can be adjusted. The audience can't, unfortunately.

To be continued in two days!

  1. So for the marriages you want the two families to marry and the other two families and for them not to intermarry? So then all of Yea-lows kids would marry all of the redwood kids? And not having them intermarry between the families?

  2. Yes, the main plan is that the Redward kids will all be married to Yea-Low kids, but nothing is set in stone. Building two klans like that will make it easier to find spouses to the next generation. With all those individs there will probably be someone not liking this plan, but I have no idea about that quite yet. Must allow the story to develop a little by itself, I don't want to plan all details :-)
