Welcome to SimBasic - a community legacy!

What happened next? Find out in the Greench Farm legacy!

4 couples stranded and founded a new community on Maccaroni Island. Currently the 3rd generation is about to start new families! This is a Sims3 community legacy that has been updated frequently for a full year, and contains about 100 chapters! Late July 2012 it came to an end and a new spin-off legacy focusing on just one of these households will bring the story forward, starting August 15, 2012.

The very first post is here, or use the Blog Archive to look back. Posts describing the project are tagged *. Please see the interactive map for household bios and family trees. Comments are welcome both here on the blog and on the SimBasic thread at the thesims3 forum. Even if there won't be more updates, I will still read your commnts.

Find all my stories and Sims projects gathered at my blog, Simmerville's Sims :)

I hope you will enjoy the read! :-)

Week 4 Day 1: The Secret Garden

The first teens are here! The Greench twins Jess and LaShawn, and their younger brother Archie, who for some reason reached teenhood on the same day. I'm surprised that they are all rather big, because their mother Greta isn't that big, but this might change slightly when they grow up to young adults in many many days.

The Greench boys live in a farm like home, and it's obvious that one of them will take over what is set to be Maccaroni's largest farm. I have no idea who that will be, hopefully it will become obvious later on. Or will a blog poll be needed? You can vote on the poll for one more week (see right side).

Their traits are:
LaShawn: Diciplined, Light sleeper, No sense of humor, Technophobe.
Jess: Excitable, Heavy sleeper, Technophobe, Natural cook.
Archie:  Diciplined, Grumpy, Vegetarian, Hydrophobic.
It's a bit boring to only eat fresh food more or less directly from the plant. No side dish, no spice, no sauce. Not even getting seated to eat.
Okay, mom can take a hint...
The boys ran over to the library.
Greta was already experimenting with different ways to colour textiles she made of suitable plants. She planned to produce the material only, but not to sell outfits.

Over at the school library locals often meet to read. It works well as a community lot and meeting place. While LaShawn and Jess walked inside, Archie hang out in the sand waiting for a good friend...
Archie joined the others inside, but he didn't concentrate because he always had a good eye to the blond little girl sitting ahead of him, Bridgette Blumington. She was still just a child, while he was a teenager. It made it quite complicated, but he knew she would grow up too, in a day or two.
He walked outside and waited again...

Bummer. Age does matter, and weight does, too. Teens and children are not meant to play the same games.

Back at the Greench farm, Gabriel surprised Greta with some flowers.

You don't need to be a teenager to get romantic by finding a secret garden...

Back at the library, Archie helped Bridgette to empty the basket that her mom brought.
Archie loves food, but who wouldn't want cake after a childhood based on tomato and lettuce?

Meanwhile, Gabriel and Greta had returned from the secret garden. And they couldn't quite believe what they saw (or actually did not see).

That's right. Even if Archie has started some romantic journey, there's no way he would give red flowers to a little girl...

So, what's going on? A camera yesterday, and flowers today. Find out more in just 2 days!

  2. Ooo, suspense. Sounds like there might be a Klepto somewhere on the island. I just want to say that I think this is the most creative take on the four founders challenge that I have ever read. Thanks so much for sharing.
